Director of Commercial Real Estate

DIRECTOR OF COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE Our client is a well known, leading commercial real estate and property management firm in central Ohio.

We are helping them hire a DIRECTOR OF COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE to lead operations and a team of Commercial Property Managers for a portfolio of 25 properties / 800 units.

The portfolio is all within central Ohio with the exception of two smaller properties within a 2 hour drive.

Properties are primarily Class A office space and small retail centers. This position reports to the President and works closely with the executive team and other functional leaders.

Key responsibilities include:

Leadership of day to day operations for the portfolio of commercial office buildings and small retail centers.

Management of a team of Commercial Property Managers and Maintenance associates who provide hands on management of grounds, maintenance, turns, renovations, etc.

Coordination with sales and leasing team to ensure high property utilization and profitability.

Due diligence support for new property acquisition.

Working with company executives and leaders on strategic initiatives to grow the business and enhance profitability.

Overseeing and assessing vendor / supplier relationships

The successful candidate will have the following background:

Eight (8) or more years experience commercial real estate management, including at experience leading commercial property managers.

Active Ohio Real Estate License (required).

A College Degree strongly preferred.

Leadership skills, coupled with a focus on team building and team collaboration.

Strong communication skills-oral, written, presentation, influencing, and listening.

Demonstrated business acumen.

Ability to assess situations, think proactively.

Anticipate situations and adapt / plan accordingly.

Ability to think innovatively and act with a sense of urgency.

Self-directed, highly adaptable.

Proficient computer skills, MS Office, particularly Excel, required along with Yardi (or similar) experience.
