About the Opportunity:

Ellucian has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Contract Manager to join its tight knit Legal team, preferably in its Malvern, PA or Reston, VA office. We are seeking a bright, energetic, business-minded and self-motivated professional to provide support for a wide range of contracts. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of complex customer agreements and serve as a subject matter expert offering consistent support to the Sales, Deal Desk and Order Management organizations. Were looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas to the table -- someone who can drive process improvements and further efficiency within the department.

Where you will make an impact

  • Assist the legal team in negotiating SaaS, software and services agreements as well as related agreements, including data privacy agreements.
  • Collaborate with legal colleagues and business stakeholders with respect to contract templates, playbooks, policies and other materials and ensure regional/global consistency.
  • Proactively establish relationships with internal clients to support key strategic initiatives and improve how legal services are provided.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the product portfolio, and working knowledge of existing and emerging systems to get work done.
  • Contribute to process improvement, technology review and adoption, contract playbooks and development of templates.
  • Balance legal risks against real-world business imperatives to provide pragmatic and business-based solutions.
  • Support legal team and cross-function projects as needed

What will you bring

  • JD, MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience with contract processes and negotiation. Prefer experience negotiating licensing and technology transaction agreements and related professional services contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and can collaborate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, efficient and resourceful with strong follow-through skills.
  • A practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and can effectively counsel with clear, concise advice and creative solutions to meet business needs.
  • Sound business judgment, kindness, integrity and a positive, "can do" attitude.
  • Strong curiosity to understand, apply and promote technology and process improvements to do things smarter and faster.
