Job Summary

This position will remain open for application submissions until 4/16/24

This position is responsible for translating business requirements from functional business areas (e.g., Operations, Engineering, EH&S, PSMS, GIS, and other operationally oriented departments) into the Mirata forms solution.  This position will provide primary configuration support for the Mirata application and secondary configuration support for the Esri Explorer and Field Maps applications. This includes involvement in all aspects of project work, on-going functional enhancements, troubleshooting, software patching and legal changes, which pertain to the stated solutions. Collaborates on all phases of the systems development lifecycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, and development of configuration-based solutions. Must continuously maintain and develop the necessary skillsets, both technical and analytical, to enhance value-added business solutions and in keeping with the IT architecture.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Configuration Support: Acquire knowledge of ADC (asset data collection) business processes, related system functions, and gain technical skills in assigned functional area. Broaden capability of the ADC solution set, predominantly focused on the Mirata application, to solve system issues, improve the application, and perform unit, integration, and vendor enhancement testing. Work with business unit analysts and other IT resources, to develop new systems and enhance existing systems to meet changing policy, regulatory and business requirements. Perform configuration to support defined business processes/functions including timely testing and validation of software patches released by the vendor.
  • Third Party Management: Manage applicable third-party vendor relationships. Provide professional and timely responses to technical inquiries from vendors and Suppliers which serve to further UGI’s interests in the application’s function.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot incidents reported against applicable IT applications. Assist in investigating issues to determine the root cause of problems. Support and monitor daily batch processing, responding to job failures in a timely manner. Provide 24X7 primary and/or secondary support to core applications considered business critical. Follow established change management procedures to ensure that application modifications are implemented in a way that meet internal IT controls.
  • Industry Research: With a focus on product and service development, delivery, and support, keep apprised of current trends in the business marketplace and apply key technologies. Provide input and direction on business unit technology strategies. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Possess analytical skills, which allows for the assessment of business processes and how they guide and shape application functionality.
  • Possess basic competency to comprehend technical design specifications, data tables, and data queries.  
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines.
  • Basic knowledge of COBIT5 based IT Governance and Management framework or other structured industry standard methodologies.
  • Organized and detail oriented
     
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in information/computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline is preferred.  
  • At least 6 years of experience in IT/GIS Systems and applications with at least 2+ years of experience supporting business processes, applications or systems with analysis, configuration, testing and/or improvement focus in two of the following components is desired:
    • ESRI ArcGIS
    • ESRI Field Maps
    • ESRI Explorer
    • Mirata Forms
  • ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Foundation certification (at hire or within 12 months in position).
