Operate, move and relocate trailers and/or tractors on Dart property, never traveling over public roadways. A valid CDL (Commercial Driver License) Class A is not required for this position.

Day to Day Role:

  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.

  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards

  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

  • Operate a yard truck or tractor with or without a trailer within Dart property lines, never traveling on a public roadway

  • Couple, uncouple, connect airlines, etc. and safely maneuver equipment in difficult situations such as narrow passageways

  • Conduct visual inspections of tractor and trailer and perform preventative maintenance checks and services of truck and trailer. Report any malfunctions to supervisor and maintenance staff.

  • Coordinate with warehouse staff as needed regarding dock management, routing and sequencing of trailers or freight

  • Assist with loading or unloading freight or product manually or via forklift, lift truck or pallet jack

  • Support Operational Excellence and effectively participate in lean initiatives and problem solving activities as needed

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Valid CDL (Commercial Driver License) Class A upon hiring and ability to maintain throughout duration of employment

  • One (1) year tractor-trailer experience

  • Physically Qualified under U.S. DOT regulations (part 391)

  • Ability to stand/walk, bend at waist, squat at knees, crawl/kneel, reach from torso, reach overhead, grasp, push/pull, carry, lift/lower, stoop/crouch, and balance

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds up to 53 feet while unloading trucks.

  • Frequently ascend and descend trailers, tractors and / or PIT equipment

  • Ability to use visual and color acuity, hearing and speech in performance of normal duties.

  • Exposure to extreme heat, loud noise, dirt, dust, odors, and fumes is probable

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areas

  • May be required to work additional hours including weekends, holidays, and/or overtime.

Perferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or high-volume warehouse environment
