Description
As a Senior BI Engineer , you will be responsible for assisting our clients envision, design and deploy analytics workloads as part of our solutions. You will be part of a small, dynamic team and will have the opportunity to contribute to multiple phases of the solution life cycle, including designing and implementing models and processes for large scale datasets used for analytics and AI.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and design Azure based solutions that meet those requirements
  • Provide strategic guidance on leveraging Microsoft Data Platform technologies (such as Fabric, Azure Synapse, Power BI, etc.) for data warehousing, data engineering, semantic modeling, analytics, and reporting
  • Solution development
  • Creating highly performant and scalable Data Warehouses using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse
  • Developing enterprise grade Power BI / Analysis Services models
  • Create technical documentation for solutions that have been built
  • Staying up to date on the latest features and capabilities being released across the Microsoft BI stack
  • Experience building SQL-based data warehouses in Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 10+ years of general technology experience
  • 5+ years of Business Intelligence experience
  • Experience programming in T-SQL and DAX
  • Experience with data modeling concepts including 3NF and dimensional models
  • Experience optimizing and performance tuning SQL Server (Azure and on-prem), Analysis Services, and Power BI Semantic Models
  • Excellent presentation and whiteboarding skills
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in a team environment with various levels of expertise
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • DP-203 (Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) or DP-600 (Implementing Analytics Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric)
  • Preferred experience administrating and rolling out technology like Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Preferred experience training others in a BI technology
  • Prior consulting experience a plus.
