SUMMARY

The Data Scientist is responsible for executing data science projects for market research in order to provide our clients with insights that will help them in their decision-making process.

This role requires a firm grasp on Machine Learning algorithms and their implementation in solving business problems.

To be successful in this role, you must have an expert grasp of the main market research advanced analytics methods and expertise in all aspects of data science from data cleaning to modeling and delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with research and sales at the study design phase to develop custom/innovative solutions and analyses to meet study objectives

  • Advocate the analytics approach and the value of data-driven decision-making to clients effectively, focus on the “how and why” of solutions to support their business objectives and

  • Execute and deliver analytics on time, on budget and on scope, end-to-end, from RFP to delivery.

  • Perform complex analyses on client projects using survey data, such as segmentation, MaxDiff, conjoint analysis, factor analysis, TURF

  • Develop or identify tools and methods, define, consolidate and analyze data required for the implementation of solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in statistics, business intelligence, operations research or other related disciplines with a focus on quantitative methods and data science OR extensive supplier side experience in the CPG space

  • 5 years' experience in the field of data science in the CPG research space, preferably on the market research supplier side

  • 5 years' experience in using R and/or Python required (SPSS, SAS an asset)

  • 5 years' experience building build statistical models with tools (SAS, SPSS or R or Tableau)

  • 5 years' experience working extensively with Excel, pivot tables, macros and database interface

SKILLS

  • Strong Consultative skill: Ability to understand business objectives, consult and advise research teams on analytics tools and methods, and provide an end-to-end service to our clients from RFP to delivery and recommend analytical approaches that respond to the business objectives

  • Strong statistical skills: Ability to do data processing, analysis, data modeling

  • Excellent influencing skills: Consult, implement and interpret commonly used market research techniques

  • An innovative mindset: To drive the development of custom research tools and stay at the forefront of industry trends
