Job Overview

The RN Site Manager and Quality Specialist at Saint James Health will play a crucial role in overseeing clinical operations, ensuring patient care quality, and enhancing health outcomes. This position combines clinical nursing leadership with quality management, making it essential for the individual to have strong organizational, management, and analytical skills. The candidate will work closely with the healthcare team to improve services in compliance with federal regulations for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Site Management:
  • Supervise daily clinical operations at the health center, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of patient care.
  • Oversee onsite LPN site managers and clinical staff, including scheduling, assignments, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with administrative leadership to optimize resource utilization, staffing, and facility management.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA.
  • Address patient concerns and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and high levels of satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and provide continuous education and training for clinical staff.

  1. Quality Management and Improvement:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance programs in line with FQHC guidelines.
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collect and analyze patient data to assess the effectiveness of care plans and improve health outcomes.
  • Coordinate with the clinical team to implement evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to care.
  • Identify areas of improvement in patient care delivery and propose solutions to enhance services.
  • Monitor key quality metrics, including patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and adherence to care protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state healthcare quality programs, including UDS and HEDIS measures.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure that the health center meets all regulatory requirements as set forth by HRSA for FQHCs.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, including those from regulatory bodies and accreditation agencies.
  • Maintain documentation and records required for quality assurance programs and compliance reporting.
  1. Leadership and Team Collaboration:
  • Serve as a clinical leader and mentor for nursing and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and administrative personnel.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure patient care continuity and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve organizational goals, align clinical operations with strategic objectives, and maintain a patient-centered approach.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in New Jersey.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in an FQHC or community health setting.
  • Experience with EPIC
  • Prior experience in clinical operations management and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of FQHC requirements, UDS, HEDIS, and other quality measures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to improving patient care quality and health outcomes.


Working Conditions

  • On-site at the Saint James Health Centers in Newark, NJ.
  • Some travel to other sites or for meetings may be required, all sites are located in Newark
  • Occasional evenings or weekends depending on clinic operations or special projects.
