Data Analyst

ECS is seeking a<b> Data Analyst </b>to work <b>remote</b>.<br> <br> <b>Job Description:</b> <br> <br>Data Analyst for an enterprise big data and analytics platform that utilizes emerging technology to ingest data in real-time at extreme volumes and high velocity; Support data mining, data analysis, and data visualization.<br> <br>Responsibilities:<br> <ul> <li>Versatile data analyst - able to support data analysis needs in a software development lifecycle and in a business support capacity to find data insights to solve a business problem</li> <li>In a software development lifecycle - Provide inputs into data arch design, analyze data outputs to validate data quality and communicate gaps to the development team; Validate SIT and CAT results to ensure product meets acceptance criteria; Support production data validation and investigations;</li> <li>In a business support role - Triage and investigate user inquiries; query and analyze data to identify business insights; Work with the Air Program Manager to create data visualizations, </li> <li>PowerPoint decks, ad hoc data pulls, and other outputs to communicate insights to client management/leadership;</li> </ul> <br>Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00<br> <br>General Description of Benefits<br> <br> <b>Required Skills:</b> <br> <ul> <li> <strong>US Citizen or Green Card holder and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance</strong></li> <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience.</li> <li>Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Data analytics</li> <li>Strong mathematical calculus background; knowledge of density, cubic volume, utilization, and other such measures in the physical world</li> <li>Ability to quickly understand Postal processes, terminology, and physical data sources (POS, scan, scales, etc.)</li> <li>Willingness and ability to work off-tour hours (late evening to early morning) remotely when requested (average of once per year)</li> <li>Willingness and ability to work off-tour hours in person at Postal facilities to gain an understanding of the data and processes (as part of onboarding and potentially once or twice every few years)</li> <li>SQL or other structured query languages</li> <li>Communications skills (both verbal & written) - ability to work and communicate with all levels in team structure</li> <li>Team player with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and effectively manage time.</li> </ul> <br> <b>Desired Skills:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Data Visualization, Qlik</li> <li>Experienced with querying and exploring data within a NoSQL data platform (e.g., Hadoop/Hive)</li> <li>Postal or airline/air cargo industry experience</li> <li>Strong geographical knowledge of US States and Territories; understanding of how ZIP codes relate to geography and how cities/locations are connected via land, water, and air.</li> </ul> <br>ECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, genetic information, registered domestic partner status, marital status, status as a crime victim, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
