MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO FULL DES PLAINES, IL RELOCATION ASSITANCE PROVIDED GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR AN INDUSTRY LEADER This position will focus on both daily operations and forward-looking strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, multi-task orientated senior leader responsible to plan, direct, coordinate and oversee operations in the areas of Maintenance, Procurement & Vendor Management, Fleet Management, Safety, New Business Startups and Operations Analytics & standards. Must possess the ability to create policy standards, analyze operations, pinpoint areas of needed improvement, and implement the needed changes to generate results. Core competencies: Lead a team comprised of Purchasing, Safety and Maintenance Directors, as well as Managers of Quality, Training, and Operations Analytics & Standards Responsible for key vendor partner relationships including: Equipment OEMs in the heavy-duty commercial space A network of used equipment outlets including wholesalers, auctions, and resellers Third party suppliers for parts, tires, fluids, and X-Factor supplies Buying consortiums National account vendors Technology partners supporting Aftermarket, Maintenance, Safety and Logistics Develop and implement bid model pricing approach for key suppliers Must be proficient in contract language and process Responsible for overseeing all Maintenance standards and procedures for all business lines supporting maintenance operations Responsible for working with business leaders to establish Safety standards for Transportation and Maintenance divisions Partner with the COO, Leadership Team, and division leaders to improve overall business processes Specific competencies: Develop, enhance, and lead critical aspects of purchasing across the organization including but not limited to procurement, negotiating, supplier/vendor collaboration, optimal pricing and rebate management, payment terms, contracts, and compliance Provide strategic planning, change management, and organizational leadership to achieve goals and objectives of purchasing operations across all product lines Serve as an advisor for predictive equipment residual values Responsible for remarketing company-owned commercial equipment through a network of dealers, wholesalers and other partners Manage trends in the maintenance and repair cost by: Utilization of a standardized and effective preventative maintenance program Establish new and improve current KPIs relative to maintenance performance Play a key role in the organizations efforts to leverage predictive analytics Analyze maintenance processes, make recommendations for action needed and implement procedures to ensure optimal and consistent performance across divisions providing maintenance support to customers Oversee warranty recovery efforts, interface with key suppliers on trends in seeking policy adjustment Serve as an advisor for new equipment extended warranty management Safety: Provide analyses of the effectiveness of safety initiatives through assessments and interpretation of data to provide continue process improvement Work with business leaders for all product lines to establish safety goals and ensure the goals are actively pursued, monitored, and reported Ensure appropriate staffing and safety education/training efforts for all teams within area of responsibility Review, create, and oversee all safety-related incentive programs Provide leadership to Operations Analytics and Standards team comprised of a Manager and team of Analysts and Administrative support staff for day to day operational processes including purchase order and invoice processing, license and title, oversight of financial packages for new equipment and ensuring proper handling of equipment titles and all related documentation Responsible for overseeing all Maintenance standards and procedures for the company, creating and tracking Maintenance KPIs, and partnering with each division to improve operational performance Provide oversight and leadership to support our Full-Service Lease product line and asset management across all product lines Lead back-office efforts to onboard new customers including establishing billing requirements, working with the finance team to set up all aspects of a new customer, oversight for contract administration and information dissemination across the organization, working with Purchasing Director for establishing vendor support and oversight of new customer setup within maintenance and related internal systems Provide oversight to the Analytics Team in support of field and executive initiatives requiring analytics and reporting. Qualifications: At least 10 years professional transportation and/or logistics experience required Bachelors degree level education and strong financial, pricing and maintenance spend acumen required At least 10 years Class 8 maintenance management At least 10 years Purchasing/Vendor Management experience Proven experience with managing effective vendor relationships Must possess proven leadership, team building, and decision-making skills Strong process and planning background Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce to achieve desired results Results oriented with a proven record of exceeding objectives, who possesses strong work ethic and problem-solving skills Well-developed business acumen in order to effectively balance the creative work required with the analytical requirements of the position Excellent verbal and written skills Above average proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (Visio or equivalent a plus) Collaborative leadership style a must Please submit resume to recruitingtranservice.com EOE
