Registered Nurse Telephone Nurse -Primary Care

Full-time, 80 hours per pay period
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Candidates for this position need to live within 100 miles o f Mankato. It is required to be onsite in Mankato then possible hybrid (onsite and remote) after training is completed and competency is up to standard.
The RN telephone nurse will handle phone calls from patients who are seeking medical information and/or medical attention. They will direct patients to schedule appointments as the patient's condition requires, answer questions, and provide health education. If a call warrants a triage, the caller's stated symptoms will be assessed to determine the appropriate level of care required to safely meet the patient's medical needs. (Emergent, urgent, non-urgent, or home care status) When appropriate, provide home-care instructions using the approved, written guidelines as well as approved reference material provided. They will monitor desktops for those providers who are out of the office for the day and triage as needed. They may also initiate electronic prescription refills and initiate labs and/or follow up visits that are required for monitoring and adhering to medications.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug screening, health assessment, and background check.
