Primary Purpose

This application is designated for INTERNAL USE ONLY and should be completed solely upon instruction from the Department Chair, Dean, or Human Resources, specifically for adjunct instructors applying to teach one of the following programs:

  • Engineering, Manufacturing, and Industrial Technologies

Position Duties

Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in the subject area. Applicants must be able to teach day and evening classes, which may include classes offered at our main campus and off-site. Instructors may be required to teach the following type of courses traditional methods (seated), online, and hybrid. The candidate must complete the mandatory SafeColleges training within 30 days of hire and annual refresher training thereafter.
Position Requirements

Adjunct Instructors must meet the faculty qualifications as defined by Wayne Community College to ensure compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. All certifications and/or post-secondary credentials must be from a regionally accredited institution and submitted to Human Resources within 30 days of hire. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with computer software is required. Applicant must be a self-starter, a team player, and possess the ability to work well with others. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is desired.

If selected for employment, the applicant must submit to a criminal background check and drug screening.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience

Unofficial transcripts from all degree-granting, institutions must be electronically attached to your application or submitted to Human Resources before being considered for an interview. To be considered, all degrees must be awarded by a regionally accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Official transcripts for all coursework and degrees will be required within 30 days of hire .
Foreign Degrees: Foreign degree evaluations must be attached in lieu of transcripts for degrees earned outside the United States. Transcripts from foreign institutions will not be considered alone.
