Job Summary The Loudoun County Health Department is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Environmental Health Supervisor position.

This position works closely with the Environmental Health and Department leadership to plan and coordinate the activities for the Consumer Services Division, specifically focusing on the compliance section. The Environmental Health Supervisor is responsible for supervising Environmental Health Specialists within the division and serves as one of the three supervisors for the Consumer Services Division. This position may also oversee the division's rabies team.

This role oversees the compliance of Food Service, Hotel and Motel, and Vector Control Regulations and Aquatic Recreation, Food Safety, Vector Control, and other related Ordinances for Loudoun County. As well as overseeing compliance and related enforcement actions, maintaining Environmental Health databases, analyzing data, and reporting on findings. The work is typically performed in an office setting, with some fieldwork required under variable environmental conditions. Proficiency with computers and strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensures staff work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with policies and procedures. Provides information to department leadership and staff. Manages the Environmental Health databases; provides technical support and training to staff; conducts periodic analyses of databases to verify the accuracy of documentation. Supervises staff performance in accordance with county and Human Resources policies. Provides regular feedback, completes performance appraisals, ensures adherence to departmental and county policies, ensures staff training and certifications are current, and advises supervisors on staffing challenges, workload, or performance issues. Assists the program in obtaining and maintaining the technical, managerial, and fiscal resources and capacity necessary to achieve program goals and comply with laws, ordinances, policies, and procedures. Provides technical assistance to support the program and field staff; assists staff with difficult issues and questions. Conducts quality assurance field and file inspections; ensures regulation and policy compliance, appropriate documentation, and timeliness. May perform other duties as assigned. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry, or related field; four (4) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications:

Hold valid standardization credentials in VDH Food Standardization.
