Job Description

The Experience Design Principal is responsible for all aspects of information architecture, user experience, and user interface as it relates to Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics capabilities, whether accessible in print or browser mediums. This position is fully involved in all aspects of the BI or Analytics solution development from requirements gathering to design, development, accessibility validation, and testing and is engaged in all aspects of user experience design and development.

Responsibilities

Create Business Intelligence and Analytical solution mockups inclusive of dashboards, parameter prompt pages and data visualizations.

Ensure industry standards and best practices are followed for HTML markup, JavaScript, CSS, and 508 compliance, to guarantee the best possible user experience is achieved regardless of platform, browser engine, or method of access.

Adhere to and oversee compliance with corporate brand standards. Lead design projects with full accountability and responsibility for designs. Provide design direction for projects.

Ensure Validation of BI and Analytic Capabilities is measured by running W3C markup validation and 508 accessibility validations and capturing the output for audit trail.

Guide the overall look-and-feel of the Business Intelligence and Analytical Capabilities and manage the user experience for a broad group of users with varying degrees of technical know-how. Develop creative briefs and design concepts for business owners and senior leaders to meet the business objectives of the Analytics organization. Contribute to the creative direction for all BI and Analytics products and solutions.

Collaborate with corporate communications and marketing and use corporate goals and branding standards to determine and establish design standards for the BI and Analytics product portfolio; establish BI and Analytics user experience standards, usability Guidelines, style guides, and visual standards, and design guidelines for interactive BI and Analytics tools; ensure standards are followed.

Create original graphics or repurpose graphic assets for use on the reports, dashboards, and analyses; produce graphic and multimedia material for products as well as use in advertising and promotion of online services and products. Use advanced techniques and tools to present professional elements and presentations.

Must stay abreast of new technologies and current trends in both design and development arena to ensure we are delivering the most effective solution regardless of how the product is accessed or by whom.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in interactive design, psychology, marketing, business, or related area of study, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

8 years of work experience in experience design, account management, and/or strategic marketing roles, across more than one customer interaction channel (e.g. web, contact center, mail, text, social media, etc.)

Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

Technical Skills Required: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular, jQuery, Figma (wireframing), Axure, Adobe Web Design Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).

Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work comfortably both alone and as part of a team.

Sharp focus on the user perspective in designing BI and Analytics tools and capabilities and will have expert knowledge of graphic design principles: design, color, layout, composition, perspective, and typography.

Familiar with and uses new technologies to design attractive and user-friendly BI and Analytics capabilities, web pages, content layouts, and presentations.

Familiarity with development kits, preferably the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence SDK (software development kit), in order to refine the visual and user experience capabilities available within commercially available products and offerings.

Highly organized with the ability to manage teams and multiple projects at any given time.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills must be able to listen, comprehend, and facilitate the gathering of requirements from the end user to ensure the need or problem to be solved is addressed in the most proficient manner.

Must also be able to communicate visual concepts verbally in a manner that is understood by all levels of staff, as well as technical and non-technical end users

.Ability to work with all levels of staff, internal and external, and remain professional under stressful situations.

Ability to work with limited oversight, but also know when to ask for direction.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in healthcare, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), or other highly regulated industry

Master’s degree or additional related coursework

Minimum Physical Job Requirements

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Reporting Structure

Reports to Sr Principal in the Marketing department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $109,000.00 - $174,000.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
