Job description
  • As part of the RH maintenance team, maintain all equipment in a safe, as designed operating condition.
  • Focus on building systems to include leather finishing lines, air make up, HVAC, oven operation, air compressors, and the maintenance of advanced technology equipment.
  • Manage/assist in project work from inception through installation and life cycle maintenance.
  • Keep the plant equipment calibrated and certified.
The Role:
  • Effectively maintaining building functionality, service and maintain machinery through preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Assisting in ordering all machine parts, maintaining parts crib, and assure minimum downtime for all equipment.
  • Assist with handling all maintenance and appearance of facility including working with outside vendors and contractors.
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
  • Knowledgeable in use of all leather finishing machinery
  • Able to diagnose / trouble shoot issues with finishing equipment
  • Complete work orders and Preventative Maintenance and complete record keeping of them
  • Ability to operate forklift
Mechanical:
  • Ability to match part for part
  • Able to diagnosis visual problems
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance
Electrical:
  • Troubleshoot to the fuse level
Hydraulic/Pneumatic:
  • Ability to change oil, filters, and hoses
Welding:
  • Perform simple cutting and bending of steel
  • Process hot work permits
  • Arc weld carbon steel
General:
  • Follow work order procedure for repairs and improvements to equipment and facilities
  • Assist in installation and start-up of new equipment and facility improvements
  • Help identify critical machine spare parts and preventative maintenance requirements
  • Lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Training and/or Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a maintenance technician, performing PM and machine repair
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Lean manufacturing systems, 5S and First Time Pass quality systems (FTP)
Physical Requirements to perform this job:
  • Needs to stay within the parameters set by the Return-to-Work physical which includes but not inclusive
  • Physically mobile, able to stand for long periods of time and walking around factory floor.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. by yourself and with assistance on heavier objects.
  • Climb and work from ladders for short period of time.
  • Work at elevated heights and / or in tight confined spaces.
  • Access roof via hatch and walk on roof.
