Nutrition Educator Assistant - South New Jersey

A nonprofit organization in Southern New Jersey is actively seeking a new Nutrition Educator Assistant for a great growth opportunity with their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented, strong ability to manage their time, and willingness to support multiple team members with the execution of specific program maintenance tasks, and in classroom support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Traveling to various communities throughout the state serving as an assistant in nutrition education classes delivered to kids, adults, and seniors - class set up, clean up, handing out materials; transporting and picking up materials for classes (as needed) Providing translation support during classes and events to community members that speak Spanish or Haitian Creole; supporting when needed with material (text) translation for handouts and other tools Supporting the administrative duties of the nutrition educators by providing copying, scanning, and packing of education materials for regional teams for the implementation of classes Assisting with shopping and food preparation for food demonstrations and classes delivered to large community events and pantry sites In times of vacancies, support in maintaining outreach, communication, and Policy, System, and Environmental Strategies to key community partners Support the organization and maintenance of office, storage and supply closet spaces, including effective utilization and accurate inventory of all program materials Conduct community observations and research to strengthen community relationships for program delivery Maintain reporting of time and efforts monthly and quarterly; maintain a steady work flow and schedule Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and/or ongoing projects Take on other duties regularly associated with supporting program implementation Ad hoc Skills & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Bilingual (proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole) Must have reliable vehicle and valid drivers license Flexibility to travel throughout designated regions, and statewide as needed Ability to be flexible with programmatic needs and changes Positive, can-do attitude, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, superior judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and poise. A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work well on a team and learn new concepts quickly. Technical aptitude (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Must be able to carry bulk materials as necessary, up to about 40 pounds.
