Position Summary

The Lead Data Scientist uses statistical methods to collect and analyze data and helps solve real-world problems in the medical arena of ECU Health.

Responsibilities Effectively manage and lead the development and application of mathematical, geospatial, and statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize healthcare data to provide usable information. Expert in statistical/machine learning programming, data management, and cleaning. Develop and lead the statistical design, execution, and analysis for business operations and research studies. Build, evaluate, and present predictive models for applications in clinical and business areas. Develop the understanding of the risks and consequences that errors could have on patient care and/or organizational finances and establish a plan to mitigate risk. Skilled to present complex information effectively for different audiences and group settings. Able to provide formal presentations such as project overviews and technical training sessions. Minimum Requirements

Master's degree (or higher) in a related field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Bio-Statistics, Physics). 5 years of health care related experience; and 10+ years of experience with complex statistical analyses, statistical programming, and sampling methodologies. Proficient in one or more statistical software such as SAS, R, or Python.
