Hours: PRN daytime & evening call | No Supervisory Responsibilities | No Travel | Pay commensurate with experience
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Radiologist, performs ultrasound scans at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program that is AMA approved and meets requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or its equivalent.
Experience: At least one year experience of Ultrasound experience is preferred, but a less experienced applicant would be considered.
License/Certifications:

  • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is preferred.
  • CPR certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Serves all patients referred to the Ultrasound department for examination in a timely manner.
  • Maintains ultrasound room in an orderly manner.
  • Must be able to maintain the scanning equipment in optimal working order, as specified by manufacturer.
  • Must be able to capture the most optimal images on film and other media.
  • Able to correctly position patient and selects correct probe for given procedure.
  • Assumes responsibility for designated area or procedures as required.
  • Performs a variety of technical skills that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ultrasound waves for imaging and diagnosis.
  • Must have a willingness to cross train and spend time in the study of Sonography essentials.
  • Understands how to use Meditech system and completes all requirements to assure exams are correctly ordered and moved to the Taken Status.
  • Submits all required sequences per exam protocol and sends completed study to the Radiologist.
  • Knowledge of PACS system and how to operate make appropriate changes prior to sending to the Radiologist, and make CDs.

  • Actively looks for other duties to perform when patient volumes are down.

Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
