Job Summary:

Scope of the Role
Collaboration is a key aspect of your role as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop reports, identify key performance indicators, and create dashboards, and visualizations that support data-driven decision-making and business objectives. Understanding their specific requirements and translating them into analytical solutions will be crucial in delivering valuable insights that address their needs. Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will also be required to lead and mentor Junior Business Intelligence Analysts to develop and grow their skills.
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst's role directly impacts strategic decision-making, business growth, and operational efficiency. The insights and recommendations in this role will guide the organization's direction and drive initiatives that positively influence revenue, customer experience, and overall business performance.
In this role, the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will report to the Vice President Member Retention, while also collaborating and receiving guidance from the Senior Vice President of Analytics & Business Insights, C-level executives, and other executives and board members.
Performance Outcomes
Data Preparation and Queries
  • Write computer programming code to query existing databases to conduct analyses.
  • Collect, clean, normalize, analyze, and interpret complex data sets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that will drive business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining of reporting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure business performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work with management and business owners to prioritize business and information needs.

Develop Business Insights
  • Test, validate, and reformulate models and forecasts to ensure accurate prediction of outcomes.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer specific business questions or support strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze results using statistical techniques to detect problems and/or areas of opportunities.
  • Identify relationships and trends or any factors that could affect the results of research.
  • Apply sampling techniques to determine groups for different pilots or campaigns and track data from inception to conclusion of test to provide business results on whether test was successful.
Communicate Data Analysis & Insights
  • Monitor and track KPIs to provide regular updates on business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Deliver oral or written presentations of the results of data analysis and recommendations of data-driven solutions to management or other end users.
  • Train management and other end users on analytical techniques, visualization tools, and historical trends.
  • Develop dashboards and reports using data visualization tool Tableau to communicate insights to business stakeholders.
  • Work with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify scope and limitations of new data sources and develop implementation process for incorporating new data sources into existing business reports.

Education, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, or economics required
  • 3+ years of experience in a business intelligence or data analyst role required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex data sets.
  • Proficient in SQL, Excel, and at least one data visualization tool such as Tableau
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders and experience interacting with a range of personalities and styles at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes is a plus.
