The IT Specialist/Assistant Manager is responsible for providing technical help desk support for Associates to ensure tasks and company initiatives can be accomplished efficiently. Additionally, the IT Specialist/Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the IT Manager across a broad range of duties. This position may be located initially at our Martinsville office (preferred) or Richmond Office and will require travel to Genedge offices or Associates statewide as needed in fulfilment of duties.
IT Specialist/Assistant Manager Responsibilities
• Help desk and technical assistance: Provide support to associates, such as: basic usage guidance, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and user account issues as needed.
• User account management: backup administrator for various cloud-based systems.
• Security Compliance: Enforce security protocols and best practices to safeguard sensitive data and protect the organization.
• Proactive maintenance: Monitor systems, identify potential issues and work to implement preventative measures in conjunction with the IT Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
o Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and/or work experience
o Experience with one or more of the cloud-based systems GENEDGE utilizes, including but not limited to AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (including Exchange Online), Zscaler, Crowdstrike, Salesforce.
o Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure
o In depth knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and iOS) and software applications
o Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
o Driver's license
Additional Considerations
• Preferred Skills and Education
o Technical certifications from CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft (or other relevant)
o Experience managing services listed at an organizational level
o Self-starter with the drive to improve and build on existing skillset
o Knowledge/experience with adhering to security protocols and framework, particularly NIST (if not already familiar with, must be willing to learn)
o Experience managing Apple devices (organizationally)
