As part of the Maintenance team, the successful candidate will complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleets.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to an Open Pit Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for the following.
Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleets
Maintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment
Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipmentpreferred
Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumaticsrequired
Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervisionrequired
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of peoplerequired
Experience handling tirespreferred
Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditionsrequired
Lift at least 50 lbs.required
Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership modelrequired
Ability to be an initial team member in a growing, fast paced environment, and support team in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety recordrequired
Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high levelrequired
Good written and verbal communication skillsrequired
