page of our website. Economists conduct research on economic phenomena, analyze economic data, prepare interpretive reports, and provide advice and consultation on economic matters. They observe, develop insights and understanding of, and explain the complex inter-relationships of economic activity in assisting Executive Branch agencies and the Legislature in their policy and decision-making roles. Statistic theory and methodology provide tools which are essential to accurate observation and valid economic analysis and interpretation. Through such methodology, economic facts must be established, validated, and interpreted by the incumbent.

The Economist V plans and conducts limited economic planning and/or development studies; analyzes, evaluates and interprets economic data; and performs other related duties as assigned.

The Economist VI plans, organizes and conducts comprehensive economic planning and/or development studies; analyzes, evaluates and interprets economic data; serves as team leader for broad, comprehensive studies of new or unexplored economic phenomena; and performs other related duties as assigned. To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Education:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university

with a major in economics or finance .

Specialized Experience: Economist V:

Four Years of; and

Economist VI:

Five years of progressively responsible work experience

conducting complex economic research studies and analyses

of major economic areas or issues which demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of economic principles and theories, as well as the implications of economic information and trends; and skill in the application of economic analysis in the formulation of sound projects and programs.
