<strong>Job Description:</strong><br>The Community Builder will be responsible for fostering community engagement, developing strategic <br>partnerships, planning and executing events, and promoting local initiatives. This role is designed to <br>strengthen the connection between the newspaper and the local community, ensuring that the <br>newspaper remains relevant and valuable to its readers.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><br>1. Community Engagement:<br> - Foster strong relationships within the community.<br> - Act as a liaison between the newspaper and local organizations, businesses, and community leaders.<br> - Advocate for local journalism and its importance to the community.<br>2. Partnership Development:<br> - Identify and develop strategic partnerships that benefit both the community and the newspaper.<br> - Collaborate with local businesses to create mutually beneficial projects.<br> - Promote local initiatives and special sections as community projects.<br>3. Event Planning and Execution:<br> - Plan and execute community events, from large-scale events like Best of Preps to smaller events like <br>lunch and learns.<br> - Ensure events are well-organized and meet the needs of the community.<br>4. Project Management:<br> - Manage 6 to 10 community projects annually.<br> - Develop and implement content plans, sales plans, and distribution plans for each project.<br> - Track project performance and provide regular updates to the management team.<br>5. Journalism Advocacy:<br> - Train to understand the role of local journalism.<br> - Work with the editorial team to identify and promote important local stories.<br> - Engage with businesses to support local journalism through sponsorships and advertising.<br>6. Internal Coordination:<br> - Foster partnerships and communication internally between editorial and sales teams.<br> - Ensure that all team members are aligned and working towards common goals for each project.<br><br><strong>Qualifications:</strong><br>- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.<br>- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.<br>- Experience in community engagement, partnership development, or a related field.<br>- Understanding of the importance of local journalism and a passion for promoting it.<br>- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<br>- Must be a local resident with deep ties in the community or someone who wants to create deep ties in <br>the community.<br><br><strong>Additional Information:</strong><br>- This is not a sales position; however, bonuses will be awarded based on the success of community <br>projects and new subscriptions.<br>- Training will be provided to develop strategic partnerships and leadership skills.<br>- The role offers opportunities for career growth, potentially leading to positions in political careers, <br>nonprofit sectors, or community foundations.<br><br>recblid 90zy0hmcda7u53wj2kdqoc6j978uwy
