The Opportunity

Mass General Brigham Digital, in partnership with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO), is seeking an experienced Project Specialist who has a passion for healthcare data and will thrive as a member of an experienced, high performing and highly motivated team. This person will have a desire to learn and a flexibility to adjust to the fast-changing analytic and reporting demands of our system. The best candidate has solid analytical and communication skills, and experience working with health care data.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Solutions Architecture, the Project Specialist will work closely with the cross-functional team responsible for developing new clinical data products. The areas of focus include Quality, Safety, Health Equity, Community Health, Patient Experience, Provider Wellbeing, Credentialing, and Pharmacy and Formulary.

The Project Specialist will collaborate with OCMO domain development team leads and technical leads to create workplans and timelines, ensuring project documentation is maintained within project management software. They will mentor the development team on project management processes, contribute to the development of Digital strategies, and manage projects considering the broader organizational context. The role requires independent work, timely problem escalation, and providing status reports to various stakeholders. The Project Specialist will also foster a positive project environment and deliver quality customer service, maintaining communication with customers and executive management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the OCMO domain development team leads & technical leads to develop workplans and timelines to meet project goals.
  • Ensures consistent documentation of project plan and work product within project management software (Azure DevOps & Workfront).
  • Coach, mentor, and guide development team on consistent project management processes and workflows and how to effectively manage their product roadmap and backlog.
  • Contribute to the development of Digital strategies and solutions that align with Digital standards and strategic directions.
  • Work independently but recognize when the involvement of senior management is required.
  • Manage projects within the context of the larger environment including competing priorities, staffing levels, and budgetary concerns.
  • Provide appropriate and timely problem escalation to Digital leadership, project steering committees, and executive management.
  • Provide on-going project status reports to Digital leadership, user groups, project steering committee and executive hospital management.
  • Establish and create a positive project environment through leadership and mentoring.
  • Provide quality customer service, providing on-going communication, feedback and follow-through with customers and executive management.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in project management.
  • 3+ years of experience working in healthcare.
  • Epic application or database experience is preferred.

  • Ability to manage mid to large, complex projects, including their dependencies, team members, other resources, and timeline.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate project demands accordingly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy.
  • Ability to facilitate and work within a complex, multi-site environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and versatile.

Remote

  • may be required to be onsite 2 times annually
