Summary of Position The Assistant Director/Faculty & Clinical Coordinator for the Nursing Program at Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) plays a pivotal role in advancing the program by managing clinical placements, coordinating with clinical agencies, and ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. This position is a full-time, 164-day academic year appointment, with an additional commitment for summer workdays. The role encompasses all responsibilities associated with a standard academic year, including teaching, program administration, and faculty collaboration. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to fulfill additional duties during the summer months, ensuring continued progress and support for clinical placements and other programmatic needs. This extended commitment is integral to maintaining the program's quality and meeting accreditation and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Director/ Faculty & Clinical Coordinator for the Nursing Program works collaboratively with the Director of the Nursing Program to oversee and manage clinical placements for nursing courses. The position plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing relationships with clinical agencies that have contracts with Red Rocks Community College (RRCC). The Coordinator is responsible for negotiating contracts with agency educators, which includes establishing learning time frames, clinical scholar requirements, and student prerequisites prior to site visits. Additionally, the role requires proficient use of a Clinical Platform to handle clinical requests and ensure compliance for both students and instructors. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Nursing Education to contribute to the visioning, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing program outcomes. The role involves assisting with national accreditation processes and ensuring adherence to the regulatory requirements set forth by the Colorado State Board of Nursing.The Coordinator will also explore and identify new potential clinical sites in collaboration with faculty and the Director of Nursing Program to meet student learning objectives. As the primary point of contact for clinical sites, the Coordinator will facilitate communication and coordination between the college and the clinical agencies.In addition to these responsibilities, the Clinical Placements Coordinator will perform instructional duties as a faculty member in accordance with RRCC's philosophy and the policies of the Colorado Community College System. The position also involves additional administrative responsibilities, including summer work hours dedicated to clinical coordination. Other duties encompass developing and evaluating curriculum, engaging in advising and retention activities, assessing student and program objectives, and participating in student learning assessments. The Coordinator will also serve on college committees and attend departmental, school, and college meetings and functions.Depending on institutional needs and qualifications, the role may include additional responsibilities such as serving as a Program Chair. This position is essential in ensuring effective clinical placement management, supporting accreditation efforts, and enhancing the overall quality of nursing education at RRCC.QualificationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent computer skills include managing an electronic database, email, Microsoft Excel, and Word. Ability to effectively communicate as appropriate to meet the needs of the audience. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to be flexible with negotiation of student, coordinator, and class schedules for placement. Ability to process multiple sources of data and information. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree in nursing. Possess a current, unencumbered Colorado RN license OR possess a current, unencumbered RN license from another state AND can obtain an unencumbered Colorado RN license by the date of hire. Has, or qualifies for, post secondary CTE credential including 4000 paid non-teaching occupational hours within the last 5 years. Experience teaching and/or training various subjects within the discipline. Clinical nursing experience. Ability to use technology in classroom and as a teaching tool. Demonstrated commitment working with and supporting students from historically marginalized communities (people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, veterans, first generation graduates, people with disabilities, etc.). Demonstrate a growth mindset regarding professional development. Ability to communicate effectively in a form that is appropriate for the needs of the audience. Participate and/or lead in professional organizations, committees and/or task forces. Experience with remote and/or online teaching/training and experience developing courses for multiple delivery formats. Ability to develop well-defined assessment/evaluation objectives and high-performance standards aligned with expectations PHYSICAL & COGNITIVE DEMANDS:The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.Occasionally moves, positions, and transports classroom and/ or laboratory equipment up to 50 lbs. Clinical assignments may require the ability to lift and/or move patients. This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office and/or classroom environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc. The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
