Participates in and provides direct support to the hospital-wide Quality and Safety Program. 2. Functions as a facilitator for Department Performance Improvement Committee Meetings including agenda preparation, committee correspondence and meeting minutes. 3. Responsible for the aggregation, analysis, interpretation and presentation of clinical quality data. 4. Provides PI Project teams with ongoing information, resources, feedback and comparative data to positively motivate team to produce improvement results. 5. Assists hospital administrative medical and management staff with the ongoing development and revision of clinical quality process and outcome measures 6. Maintains current knowledge of specification manuals used in chart abstraction and conducts follow-up on all identified outliers. 7. Collects relevant physician specific data for physician profiles and disseminates reports in the aggregate to appropriate stakeholders. 8. Collects and performs data entry into software programs as needed. 9. Assists in maintaining the dashboard for the Board of Trustees. 10. Actively supports ongoing Joint Commission preparation including participation in Joint Commission Team, unit based audits, record reviews and tracers; facilitation of standards compliance teams, and education of staff. 11. Maintains awareness of the requirements of regulatory agencies such as Centers for Medicaid/Medicare (CMS) Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. 12. Reviews designated cases identified by risk and quality screens for quality of care issues. Refers case to risk management or physician reviewer for peer review as appropriate. 13. Assists Risk Management with RCA's and corrective action plans as needed. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. Bachelor's level or higher in healthcare related field. Experience/Skills: Required: 1. Two years experience in a healthcare related field 2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 3. Computer experience including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation packages. 4. Ability to work independently 5. Experience with chart abstraction 6.
