Job Summary:
Responsible for thedelivery of care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment,planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectivelyinteracts with patient, significant others, and other health team members whilemaintaining standards of professional nursing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Utilizethe nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning,implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care, as evidenced byclient/staff observation.
Teachpatient/significant other appropriate health information in a timely manner andshare written informational material.
Performdirect patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards.
Assist patients,family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect theirconfidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous andrespectful manner.
Assistin the orientation/training of new employees.
Assistother staff in the performance of their assignments.
Recognizethe need for variations in staffing and volunteer to fill open shifts.
Take direction andinitiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption ofcross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
Demonstrate soundjudgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings orconcerns.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:
Basic computer.
Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process andits application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, andevaluation of nursing care.
AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identifyage-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position withappropriate confidentiality and security.
Risk Management/QualityManagement/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, QualityManagement, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing AssociateDegree or Diploma required.
WorkExperience One-year relevant experience, graduates accepted based uponposition availability.
Training N/A
License Current New Mexico Licenserequired or RN License with Multistate Compact privileges.
Certification BLS required. ACLS, PALS required. TNCC and ENPC preferred.
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patientcontact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
