Position Overview
The Manager, Corporate and Foundations Partnerships will be responsible for leading efforts to secure financial support from local and multi-national companies and for supporting quarterly goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a diverse base of donors.
Job Description

Compensation Range: $50,000 - $56,000
Responsibilities
Donor and Grant Management
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Development (SDD) to write grant proposals and complete grant reports as needed
  • Support the SDD in stewarding individual, organizational, and foundation donors
  • Facilitate and execute all responsibilities related to donor proposals and grants
  • Lead and manage content collection from school teams for school team sponsor reports
  • Oversee the school tour process for donors and organizations
  • Conduct grant research using tools such as the Candid Foundation Directory
  • Create impact reports for funders
  • Manage the grant calendar and keep the SDD informed of application and reporting deadlines
Development Operations
  • Maintain the donor database and ensure its integrity by including call logs, contacts, and gift processing
  • Keep records up-to-date and process all donations in a timely manner
  • Oversee gift confirmation, invoicing, pledge reminders, and gift transmittal
  • Complete all site thank-you notes promptly, following the gift recognition policy
  • Ensure accurate records for events, mailings, and donors
  • Create progress and analysis reports related to revenue, donor records, and campaigns
  • Manage the development calendar
Development Event Management
  • Support all development events, including but not limited to: the Golf Outing, Opening Day, and Graduation
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development (SDD) to develop event sponsorship opportunities
  • Develop and manage an events calendar, including national and local events and external partnerships
  • Manage event spreadsheets, tracking revenue stages, attendance, benefits, and historical data
  • Work with the SDD to manage all event collateral, including invitations, event signage, talking points, and thank-you notes
  • Oversee event communications, including social media, sponsor and attendee communications, briefing documents, talking points, and thank-you letters
  • Manage event sponsorship benefit fulfillment
  • Secure necessary vendors, obtain quotes, finalize contracts, and monitor vendor performance to ensure exceptional service and value
  • Develop staffing plans for events and assist in training AmeriCorps members, staff, and volunteers on their roles as needed
  • Create event budgets and track expenses
  • Manage inventory and storage of all event supplies
  • Support scriptwriting and talking points for external speakers and leadership staff
  • Handle post-event management, including thank-you letters, database updates with donor and event notes, vendor payments, and collection of gifts and sponsorships
Marketing, Philanthropy, and Social Media Communications
  • Implement and manage the communication calendar and Cleveland Development (Devo) Calendar
  • Utilize stories from schools to feature in the City Year Cleveland newsletter, on the website, and with donors
  • Create and share social media content, including City Year stories, across various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Develop and distribute a quarterly newsletter
Manage Relationships
  • Achieve a personal revenue goal of $300,000 from individuals, corporations, and/or foundation
  • Ensure donors have an outstanding philanthropic experience through their investment of time, advocacy, and financial support
  • Represent City Year at corporate and community functions to establish and strengthen relationships with potential and current donors
Support Fundraising
  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and implementation of Volunteer Board and Committee meetings
  • Prepare agendas, materials, and briefings to support successful meetings with donors, prospects, committees, and boards
Support the Organization
  • Contribute to the organization's intellectual and operational capacity by staying informed about local and national trends in national service, public education, and fundraising
  • Actively foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and collaboration
  • Engage in team and department activities that support the achievement of team and departmental goals and vision
  • Commit to personal growth with a focus on improving outcomes for the students we serve
What You'll Bring
  • 3 to 5 years of successful sales or fundraising experience, including closing gifts through personal, direct asks
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and think critically
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment in managing sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to work independently, meet concurrent deadlines, organize time and priorities, and collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and diverse environment
  • Passion for and understanding of City Year's mission within the national service movement and education sector
  • Experience with donor/relationship management software for tracking donors, setting goals, and generating reports (Salesforce experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms
