Clerical Support Specialist Med Staff - Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

Administrative/Secretarial support to the Medical Staff Manager and performs diversified administrative and secretarial functions.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Pro and various web based software solutions.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in all aspects of clerical support, required
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting or customer service highly preferred.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Duties:

  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, proven problem solving and experience in providing manager support while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Responsibility for performing tasks with high attention to detail and accuracy in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to communicate with physicians, administrators, employees, patients and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Accurately prepares correspondence, rosters, reports, on-call schedules, meeting agendas, and supporting materials and assists with other projects as required.
  • Assists in maintaining confidential, secure credentials files and accurate data entry for all credentialed Medical Staff Members through the use of electronic credentialing software; including, but not limited to, managing expiring documents and certifications, documentation of verifications and other credentialing and privileging duties as assigned.
  • Answers telephone and provides information in accordance with company policy. Screens telephone calls, mail and visitors.
  • Assist in onboarding and maintaining files for new providers and rotating students.
  • Provides confidential support to the Manager of the Medical Staff Office.
  • Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department.
  • Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital.
  • Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments as observed by manager. Reports to work on time and is at work as scheduled, as observed by manager.
