Civil Engineer

Job Description
gpac is partnered with a contractor on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, planning, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License preferred; EITs considered
• Proficiency in design software like MicroStation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Sketchup
• Knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, RAM, and E-Tabs
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and roadway design standards
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
• Team player with strong organizational skills and a commitment to staying current on industry trends

Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the design team to create roadway designs that meet local regulations and industry standards.
• Develop project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering specifications and select materials for road construction and maintenance.
• Design road alignments, intersections, and transportation facilities with safety and accessibility in mind.
• Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Provide technical support during construction, including plan reviews and overseeing project progress.
• Conduct inspections to ensure design standards are met.
• Integrate environmental considerations, such as stormwater management, into roadway designs.
• Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Mentor Engineers-In-Training (EITs) and manage structural design projects.
