BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.<br> <strong>Expected Duration: 06 Months</strong> <br> <strong>Job Type: 40 hours work week & Contract for 06 Months</strong> <br> <strong>Pay Rate: $24/hr on W2</strong> <br> <br> <strong>Description:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Chemistry lab technicians assist chemists in their lab work. As time progresses, lab technicians are completing a greater number of tasks that previously would have been performed by highly trained chemists.</li> <li>Technicians are responsible for monitoring chemical processes and testing products as part of quality assurance.</li> <li>Under the supervision of chemists and other team members, they perform repetitive lab activities, such as setting up lab equipment and preparing chemical solutions. </li> <li>They also conduct tests, interpret and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present their conclusions.</li> <li>Operate a wide variety of lab equipment (tabletop filtration, pH/conductivity meters, furnaces, mixers, precipitation reactors, filter press, benchtop sieves)</li> <li>Carry out and support precipitation and calcination of NCM cathode material with limited supervision (50g-50kg scale)</li> <li>Precise and accurate preparation of mixtures according to stoichiometric requirements. Must be capable of repeated lifting and transfer of 50lb sacks</li> <li>Analyze samples for physical and chemical characteristics and provide summary to manager using Particle Size Analyzer, BET Surface Area, Kjeldahl Reaction, etc. generates data which is reliable from which correct conclusions and recommendations can be made</li> <li>Record and communicate testing results Keep accurate, current records and logs; provide clearly written experimental observations and results for technical reports; provide data and documentation required for technical documents and patents</li> <li>Create experiments and maintain documentation in electronic lab journal</li> <li>Resolves minor problems, adapting non-conforming samples to routine preparation and procedures</li> <li>Responsible for inventory management and preparation of shipping documents for sample shipments</li> <li>Submission of samples for analytical testing and entering reported analytical results into electronic databases</li> <li>Work comfortably while wearing respiratory protection and PPE (ex.
