Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The department Charge Nurse oversees and directs all patient care, resource allocation and problem resolution within the standards and philosophy of the department and nursing services to ensure patients receive optimal care. Works in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the health care team in planning patient care and participates in direct patient care on a regular basis to maintain clinical skills. Demonstrates positive public relations by interacting with patients, visitors, physicians and staff in a considerate, respectful and professional manner. Evaluates the North 1/North 2 environment on an ongoing basis, intervening as needed, to ensure a safe environment for all patients and staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Current California Registered Nursing (RN) License required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Current advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required

Knowledge/Skills:

• Demonstrates leadership ability, good communication and organizational skills.
• Must have sufficient physical and mental health to accomplish duties of a Registered Nurse and meet Marshall Medical Center's pharmacology requirements.
