Description
St. Therese is a small but active parish located in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. Its boundaries include St. Therese parish as well as the former St. Mary's Parish located in the central district of Seattle. St. Therese is part of a parish family with St. Joseph on Capitol Hill, providing additional opportunities for engagement and collaboration.
I. POSITION PURPOSE
Performs administrative services in support of the pastor, parish and its activities as well as the parish family.
II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborates with Pastor, parish staff and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish.
  • Provides general support and serves as an administrative resource for the pastor, parish staff and volunteers.
  • Serves as a communication link within the parish family for its staff members, parishioners, committee members, vendors and others who may be visiting or calling the parish.
  • Responsible for fielding and responding to appointment requests for the pastor.
  • Maintains the pastor's calendar, processes messages, invitations, etc.
  • Assists with answering the office telephone and greeting visitors, providing assistance or referrals as appropriate.
  • Assures preparation of the weekly parish bulletin by volunteers or other staff, coordinating content as needed with the parish family.
  • Updates and maintains the parish website.
  • Maintains sacramental records, parish registration and other parish filing systems.
  • Maintains the parish database system, ensuring parishioner records are accurate and timely posting of donations.
  • Ensures all parish employees and volunteers are in compliance with the Safe Environment Program requirements.
  • Maintains office supply inventory and reorders as needed.
  • Organize and supervise volunteers for collection counting and other parish projects/activities as needed.
  • Report facility repair needs for the parish to the Director of Facilities.
III. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
  • Attends workshops as appropriate and provides general assistance as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Active, practicing member of a Catholic faith community
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail in performing job duties
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity software
  • Data base management, website content creation, and communications expertise.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
