Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)#/#$1,000 Sign On Bonus!* SUMMARY: This position is filled by a certified nursing assistant who, as a result of educational and clinical experience, possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide direct patient care; ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities.# Adaptability is essential for the hospice CNA, as work schedule and daily work load change frequently to meet patient needs.# Responsible and accountable for basic patient care, timely notification to appropriate staff on completion of patient care and for patient status changes. Responsible for homemaker and housekeeping duties in the home of patients and at the Hospice House.# Responsible for adhering to all standards of patient care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own, and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of the Hospice of the Ozarks. Experience: One year patient care experience and Safety Care Training encouraged, but not required. Certifications: Current Arkansas state approved nursing assistant certification.# BLS required.# Obtain hospice specific CNA certification within two years of employment desired.# Valid and clean Driver#s License, reliable transportation and agency required liability insurance to complete home visits. Active personal automobile liability insurance coverage consisting of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury required.# Other: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Complete lift training within 6 months.# Basic computer knowledge required.# Driving required. Ability to stand and walk, bend, squat and twist, and occasionally requires lifting of 50 pounds or more of equipment with proper body mechanics, up to or exceeding 8 to 12 hours during shift(s).# Able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient or equipment. Occasionally lift patients with assist 125 pounds or more with proper body mechanics.# Spends eight hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations of potentially combative patients, CPR and obtaining equipment. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Has a sense of awareness (visual and auditory) and ability to recognize changes in patients to prevent behavioral crises. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases.
