Industrial Power Systems (IPS) Product Definition Engineer
This Product Definition Engineer will work in a team with other Product Definers for Industrial Power Systems (IPS). This role will interact with Product Marketing, Applications engineers, and Designer engineers within IPS, as well as ADI Field personnel and customers to translate the voice of the customer into technical product requirements and system-level requirements for the product development team. This position will be accountable for producing innovative and differentiated product definitions that pass early concept, design, and product launch phases to generate large opportunity pipelines before release and maintain technology leadership for ADI's power management franchise. IPS power management technologies include high current density, connected dc/dc power controllers, FET drivers (GaN and Si), industrial battery chargers, and system protection products.
Responsibilities Include :

  • Meet with customers to gain insight into pain points, emerging trends, and associated product development needs
  • Provide product definitions to the product development community that solve customer needs and meet market demands
  • Maintain technology roadmaps that reflect ADI's direction in a particular market to inform our customers, field technical leaders and marketing/sales teams
  • Keep up to date on the latest semiconductor trends and competitive power device offerings
  • Participate in lab bench Silicon Debug in collaboration with Design/Validation/Applications teams
Requirements :
  • At least 7 years of power semiconductor experience (IC, Systems or Applications Design)
  • BSEE required ; PhD / MSEE or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • Superior written communication skills
  • Experience preferred in one or more of : dc/dc power converters, analog/mixed signal circuits, simulation tools/modeling (LTSpice/Simplis), digital interface protocols(I2C, PMBUS, SPI).
  • Extensive knowledge of existing state-of-the-art in power semiconductors (GaN and Silicon) and packaging capability preferred
  • Domestic and international travel 10%-20%.

The wage range for a new hire into this position is $123,500 to $169,813.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, training, external market data, internal equity, or other bona fide factors.
