Job Purpose

Creates, implements and executes the overall business-to-business marketing and internal- and external- communications strategy for Rail Division to increase sales, establish brand awareness and consistency, and drive employee engagement. Manages, supports and implements advocacy activities involving the company’s industrial priorities, regulatory compliance and other interests and provides strategic advice to company leaders.

Key Job Elements

• Apply a deep understanding of the company, its products and the global rail industry to analyze market trends and data, identify product and service positioning opportunities and develop strategies to effectively communicate the customer value proposition;
• Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to understand both short- and long-term strategic goals and priorities, as well as to develop a deep understanding of Rail Division’s products and services; and develop and implement an overall marketing and industrial relations strategy to achieve those objectives;
• Gather, analyze and report information on industry, customer and competitive activities as well as market structure and trends to Rail Division business unit leaders;
• Develop long-term relationships with key industrial leaders in pursuit of advancing corporate objectives and seek opportunities to mitigate risks that may negatively impact the company;
• Build relationships and serve as the primary liaison with coalitions and industry associations composed of companies with similar interests and viewpoints on important matters; leveraging them in support of company priorities and developing and implementing advocacy strategies;
• Collaborate on legislative and regulatory strategies to advocate public policy goals and demonstrate key political acumen and engagement;
• Identify, analyze and monitor legislative actions and regulations with potential impact to the organization and engage respective business units to further analyze and develop response with company leaders;
• Lead marketing strategy, trade show and event support, digital marketing content creation, creative development, public relations and employee communications;
• Manage multiple media communications programs to promote Rail Division’s products and organizational presence in marketplaces consistent with organizational objectives;
• Develop the marketing mix across various channels including public relations, social media, events, media strategies, trade shows, etc.;
• Coordinate the company’s employee engagement efforts;
• Develop and implement employee communications strategies, including email, website, digital signage, and presentation materials to deliver key messages;
• Develops ROI metrics and dashboards to measure and improve effectiveness of all marketing and industrial relations efforts.

Education / Training

• College (B.S.) degree from an accredited university.

Qualifications and Experience

• 10+ years experience in business-to-business marketing, communications strategy and sales;
• Extensive knowledge and experience within the rail industry preferred;
• Experience with industrial relations.
