Job Details

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team that will be responsible for direction of North America General Ledger team.

As the Accounting Manager, you will develop the drafting of the financials, in our North America Retail operations, training and developing a staff of four, collaborating with business owners on financial results, responsible for cash sales audit, fixed assets, reserves, purchase card program, maintain SOX controls and project manage accounting process improvements. As the manager of three, you will be responsible for guiding employees career progression. This role will execute our financial processes consistent with the requirements of a publicly traded company while also optimizing operations and tackling new projects that help us grow. You will develop partnerships across the Zumiez teams to create meaningful impact on our results. Responsibilities:

Responsible for the development of the North America General Ledger team
Responsible for the coordination and review of North America financial statements to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting of monthly reporting.
Train team on key financial processes and best practices
Oversee cash sales audit.

Prepare and review monthly key reconciliations and journal entries.
Primary business partner throughout the North America organization.
Partner with business teams in reviewing financials and identifying opportunities for improved financial results.

Assist the Internal Audit Department and external auditors.
Oversee fixed asset accounting in accordance with ASC 360 Property, Plant, and Equipment, guidance. Collaborate with collaborate with Real Estate, IT and business teams on timely recording of capital assets.

Maintain Zumiez license and compliance filings.

Manage GAAP Cashflow Process
Manage Personal Property Tax process
Maintain Financial Reserves process
Manage Corporate Purchase Card Program
Manage Workers Compensation process and filings
Assist the Finance department with financial review to interpret trends and variances from budget related to our international operations.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.



Job Requirements:
3 - 7 years accounting experience (Required)
Retail industry experience is preferred
BA/BS degree in Accounting or Equivalent (Required)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Preferred)
Self-motivated, must be able to prioritize, organize and plan well
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, risk and controls standards and business process best practices.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather/research and interpret information, skillfully.

Knowledge of management information system terminology, concepts and practices.
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, self-assess/monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback to improve performance.
Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills. Record of setting and hitting deadlines and goals, holding themselves to what they said they were going to accomplish.

Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage various responsibilities and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
