REPORTS TO: Operations General Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Including but not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of assigned routes
  • Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Complete a written report on the condition of this equipment at the end of each trip.
  • Must comply with all DOT regulations, including hours of service rules
  • Assist in the warehouse when needed
  • Have a flexible schedule
  • Check shipping papers to determine the nature of the load and accurate count of products on and off the trailer.
  • Responsible for locking, parking as well as cleaning vehicles.
  • Ensure adequate packing materials/equipment are on the vehicle.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Haul, pick up, or deliver cargo to or from terminals or warehouses as directed.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation (waybills, bills of lading, shipping orders, or manifest) required to move the shipment is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment when delivered.
  • Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to truck operations and freight movements.
  • Collect payment if/when required and hand it to the office or supervisor.
  • Promptly file a written report of any accident or incident involving driver or company equipment to management after initial telephone or personal report.
  • Promptly report any traffic delays due to breakdowns, weather conditions, or other emergencies, or irregularities relating to pick-up or delivery of freight to dispatch or the manager.
  • Professional representation of the company through responsible driving and contact with employees, customers, and motoring public, city, state, and D.O.T. officials.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.
  • Any other duties as may be requested by the Company

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must qualify under part 391 of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • A current DHR and DMV is a must
  • TWIC Card is a must
  • An existing medical card preferred
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Safe and defensive driving skills are a must
  • Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Adhere and follow ALL company "Safety" practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Report all damages and/or injuries in a timely manner

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: Hourly/Non-Exempt; $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, bend, crawl, sit, talk, move about, hear, and speak. May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions. Noise levels may be high when operating power equipment. Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving for a period of up to 10 (ten) hours. Employees may be exposed to outside weather conditions when transporting materials. Must be able to shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals. The employee must be able to lift frequently up to 40 pounds and ask for assistance in lifting items that are bulky or excessively heavy or appear to be beyond the employee's capability. Must be able to enter and exit the vehicle cab 8 to 10 times or more daily. The employee is required to properly use such safety equipment as appropriate to the work to prevent injury to themselves or others.
