Cub Creek Science Camp is a residential summer camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. We are dedicated to providing an unforgettable and unique summer camp experience, but above all else, we strive to help our campers gain self-confidence, discover who they are, and make lasting friendships!

Requirements
Lead instructors are responsible for facilitating activities for campers including classes, early-birds, and night-owl activities. Lead instructors should have some experience instructing children or teens in their area of specialty.
Lead Instructor areas of specialty are:
  • Science - physics, engineering, chemistry, crime science, culinary science
  • Nature - pond study, caving, plant identification, entomology, and nature hiking
  • Adventure - archery, riflery, survival skills, caving
  • Ropes Course - zipline, rappel, crate stacking, rock climbing
  • Arts & Crafts - pottery, ceramics, crafts

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide instruction of assigned camp activities to campers
• Provide guidance to campers on their schedule, activity choices, and abiding camp rules
• Ensure campers are on time to activities with the appropriate supplies. Assist campers at meal times, and in the cabin to ensure campers are maintaining health and hygiene practices such as showering, wearing clean clothes and getting appropriate sleep
• Lead cabin activities, songs, and games that are engaging and age appropriate
• Provide emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and during training
• Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities
Required Experience and Skills:
• Completed at least 1 year of college education
• A desire to positively impact the life of a child and willingness to put the needs of campers first
• Have a passion for science, animals and childhood development
• Able to effectively communicate ideas, and instructions in a constructive manner
• Self-motivated and able to work on tasks and assigned goals with minimal supervision
• Be willing to learn new concepts and skills
• Able to work in a team and both give and take direction from others
• Willingness to adhere to camp's code of conduct, rules and policies
Benefits
Starting pay $4500 for 12 week summer. Additional $100 credit in camp store for snacks and supplies. Housing, meals, and laundry included. Weekend work is required, this position requires availability to work on-site 7 days a week for the contract period. 2-hour break provided each day, and 1 scheduled day off each week. Additional leadership training and certifications are available to the right candidates, including high ropes course and lifeguard certifications.
