The Cardiac Tech, for the Pacemaker Center must be responsible, detail oriented, multitask, flexible, see tasks to completion, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have proficient critical thinking skills to manage complex situations, and be sensitive to patient needs. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Cardiac Technologist, Pacemaker Center at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Understand basics of PPMs, leadless PPMs, HIS Bundle Pacing, Conduction System Pacing, ICDs, SICDs, CRT-P, CRT-D, ICMs. Understands normal device function. Understands basics of leads (high/low impedances, bipolar vs unipolar). Interpret high rate episode egrams, counters, log book, duration, burden. Understands more complex programmable features. Interpret complex rhythm strips accurately. Able to manage ICM, ILR, Loop clinics. Processes remote transmissions with accurate documentation and routes completed report to following EP. Resource to all staff in regards to Cardiac Devices. Understand the importance of data used in clinical decision making and follows protocol/guidelines. Fluently navigates between patient screens in paceart, Epic and Remote clinic in order to give comprehensive care to patients. Recognize and respond immediately and appropriately to potential emergency situations that arise or notify an RN if and when needed. Manages all incoming phone calls/ voicemail. Ensure all orders in Epic are accurate and complete also information matches paceart. Complete entire process for New Implants, Generator Replacements and Joining patients. Check in & check out patients in Epic. Assist with incoming remote alerts as requested. Work in collaboration with RNs APNs, EP providers. Navigate Pace art and enter information. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. Graduate of a cardiac technical program or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of cardiac arrhythmia course within 90 days of hire. Basic understanding of cardiac disease and advanced understanding of arrhythmias. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1 year of prior experience in cardiac rhythm monitoring. Prior Holter Monitoring experience. Licenses and Certifications Required: Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification. Contacts: Regular contact with medical personnel and its visitors.
