We are currently accepting resumes for a full time Building Inspector. This candidate selected for this position will fill in as needed for the Cities of Walnut, Diamond Bar, La Verne and San Gabriel.
The successful candidate must have two to three years of building inspector experience, and be ICC Certified as a building inspector. We will also consider candidates with a strong construction background or a contractor's license, and a desire to gain experience as a building inspector, with ICC Certification as a building inspector to take place within one year of employment.
The candidate performs field inspections of various phases of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings which may include electrical, plumbing, and mechanical plans, layouts, and site plans to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations. The candidate will review routine over-the counter plans and may assist issuing building permits.
