Job Description
Responsible for assisting with administrative and clerical work in support of the Community Development Department.
Work with The Building Regulations, Code Compliance, Responsible Property Programming, and Planning and Zoning divisions to assist with daily administrative tasks.
Work is performed under the general supervision of division managers.
This position will last for up to one year.
Examples of Duties
Work involves answering telephone calls, maintaining departmental records or records retention, processing billing, applications.
Work on the management information/citizen complaint tracking system.
Work involves working extensively with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Possession of valid Ohio driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Computer skills - Proficient with Word, Nitro, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Computer use, data entry and management, records and report review for quality assurance.
  • Filing Skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Communication Skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of recordkeeping and accounting.
  • Ability to plan and organize a high-volume workload.
  • Ability to conduct research, interpret data, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, other employees, and the general public.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to follow oral and written instructions.
