Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: POSITION SUMMARY: Provides consultation, evaluation, and occupational therapy services to patients. Establishes a rehabilitative plan of care with realistic goals following a functional evaluation for all patients. Provides education to patients, family members, students, staff, and to the community at large. Coordinates services with other medical disciplines, making recommendations as appropriate to facilitate a complete rehabilitative process. Participates in Performance Improvement and Risk Management activities. EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Graduate of occupational therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Certified as an Occupational Therapist by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New York. Maintains current BLS/CPR certification. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise as applicable, including but not limited to: Hip, Knee replacement Program Stroke Med/Surg Bariatrics SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong time management skills. BLS for Health Care Providers preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS: Clinical setting. Exposure Class I – routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Heavy work: continual and repetitive motions, including but not limited to, heavy lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, pushing, and prolonged walking and standing. WORK CONTACT GROUP: All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, various regulatory and professional agencies. SUPERVISED BY: Service Coordinator or Manager SUPERVISES: Occupational Therapist Assistant, Rehabilitation Aide, Student Occupational Therapist and/or Student Occupational Therapy Assistant, after one year clinical experience. Pay Rate: $47.95 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
