JOB SUMMARY – Medical Billing Associate

Busy Endoscopy Center seeks part time medical biller for charge entry, payment posting, demographics entry, filing, scanning, answering phones, verification of insurance, etc. Must have positive attitude and professional demeanor. Work as key member of facility billing team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good communication skills required
  • Billing Experience
  • Medical billing experience preferred

BILLING/COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

  • Data entry of charges, payments and or corrections.
  • Contact patients regarding outstanding balances.
  • Establishes payment plans to help patients manage payment of bills.
  • Sends delinquent accounts to collection agencies.
  • Processing insurance payments to patient accounts / refunds to insurance and patients.
  • Create and mail insurance claims and patient statement.
  • Rebill insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment for the group.
  • Responds to patient billing and statement inquiries.
  • Make recommendations to management for write-offs.
  • Answer patients inquire, by phone, in persons, mail.
  • Work on reducing the A/R, by working on denials and appealing to the insurance company.
  • Follow up on assigned correspondence from Insurance Companies.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Research and resolve problems by gathering and analyzing information with others or individually
  • Manage difficult customer situations by responding promptly to customer needs and meeting commitments.
  • Address full life cycle of the billing cycle by accurately handling items with detail and thoroughness.
  • Collection calls.

MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Require frequent and constant judgment and ability to solve problems. Require language skills adequate for written and interpersonal communication in American English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Require visual and auditory acuity adequate to monitor patient and visitor activity and for frequent use of computers and occasional use of other business office's equipment. Ability to sit for long periods and to perform desk and office activities.
