Bilingual (Spanish/English) Straw Boss

As a Straw Boss you'll be responsible for assisting with the supervision of and expediting the work of a small group of workers to achieve performance goals and metrics in addition to performing your work assignments. 

What you'll do:

  • Model and promote good safety practices.
  • Work with Foreman to plan the use of resources, personnel and workflow to achieve the daily production and delivery goals. 
  • Be a hands-on leader working side by side with assigned work crew.  Provide necessary communications, equipment, materials and training to ensure successful completion of tasks.
  • Follow and ensure all crew members comply with project procedures, safety requirements, work rules, etc. Immediately inform Foreman of any safety, operational or employee issues/concerns.
  • ​​​​​​​Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with federal, state and local laws, statutes and regulations and to company and client specifications.

What you need:

  • Ability to read and speak English with ability to translate into Spanish for others.
  • Minimum of two years of construction, oil and gas or related industry experience.
  • Minimum of one year of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for required education.
  • Must pass a DOT drug test and criminal background check.

  • Work schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturdays as required. 
  • This is outdoor work in all types of weather. 
  • Physical demands include exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to see, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; climb, kneel, stand, walk crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar tasks. 
  • Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, mists, odors and vibrations; Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
