Basic Cost Analyst

ECS is seeking a <b>Basic Cost Analyst </b>to work in our <b>Dahlgren, VA (Mostly on-site support until analyst is ready for occasional remote support) </b>office <b>Please Note:</b> <b> This position is contingent upon [additional funding]</b>. <br> <br> <b>Job Description:</b> <br> <br>ECS seeks qualified candidates to support the Missile Defense Agency in Dahlgren, VA. The chosen candidate will work closely with team members and/or supervisors on assigned projects and activities with emphasis on thoroughness, technical accuracy, and timeliness of products. Employee focuses on improving detailed understanding of the organization and mastering skills required for assigned tasks. This position is mostly on-site support with occasional remote work so the analyst can better understand the program, meet face-to-face with the customer, and become proficient with day-to-day responsibilities. <br> <br>You also will be asked to:<br> <ul> <li>Contribute to Analyses of Alternatives, Business Case Analyses, and mid-term and far-term architecture planning studies.</li> <li>Analyze Contract Performance Reports (CPRs) and Cost and Software Data Reports (CSDRs) formerly CCDRs and incorporate data into cost estimates.</li> <li>Develop Cost Models and articulate results both in written form and verbally.</li> <li>Conduct Cost Research Studies.</li> <li>Conduct budget analysis and support the budget formulation process.</li> </ul> <b>Required Skills:</b> <br> <ul> <li> <b>Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.</b></li> <li>1+ years' related experience.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills.</li> <li>Proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.</li> </ul> <b>Desired Skills:</b> <br> <ul> <li> <b>BS/BA Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or related field.</b></li> <li>Proficiency with the Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tool (ACEIT).</li> <li>Experience in Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).</li> <li>Experience in Cost Estimation to Include:</li> <li>Ability to Analyze Contract Performance Reports (CPRs) and Cost and Software Data Reports (CSDRs) formerly CCDRs and incorporate data into cost estimates.</li> <li>Developing cost models.</li> <li>Knowledge of model tool and databases used to develop cost estimates.</li> <li>Cost research studies.</li> <li>Experience/knowledge in budget analysis and budget formulation.</li> <li>Knowledge of DoD process for preparing life cycle cost estimates.</li> <li>Knowledge of OSD CAIG roles, procedures & expectations,</li> <li>Experience with hardware & software cost methodologies & estimates for various missile, radar & communication systems.</li> </ul> <br>ECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, genetic information, registered domestic partner status, marital status, status as a crime victim, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
