This position is responsible for performing radiography (x-ray) examinations to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role may also involve some exams in more complex modalities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) required
- Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required
- Certificate in Basic or Advanced Life Support required
- Four (4) years of prior experience as a Radiology Technologist
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiography exams on patients, ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures
- Help maintain appropriate patient flow and ensure delivery of quality services in the imaging department
- Act as a resource and mentor to staff and less experienced technologists
- Intervene with patients to help resolve complaints and issues
- Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors
- Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency
- Other duties as assigned
