Job Description
Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) is a $3.2B leading provider of
membrane separations and purification technologies for water and process applications.
This position is in the Products Platform organization focused on configurable
equipment products that use our core membrane technologies such as Reverse
Osmosis (RO), Electrodionization (EDI), and pressurized ultrafiltration (PUF). This
group will help drive our new product introduction (NPI) growth programs globally for
membrane based configurable systems and help improve the inquiry to remittance (ITR)
process for all of the regional teams. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will design and
lead designers to develop new configurable equipment products and maintain existing
products using advanced engineering tools resulting in products or processes that are
best-in-class in the marketplace. This engineer will also support production in
Minnetonka, MN USA and Guelph, Ontario, CAD.
Function/Responsibilities:
Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions is currently searching for a Mechanical &
Design Engineer to join our standard products equipment engineering team. This team
focuses on standard equipment in support of our external Channel Partners and internal
selling channels within Veolia. The successful candidate will assume responsibility such
as:
• Lead the mechanical design effort for new configurable membrane based equipment
products sold into NAM and other regions. This design work includes supporting the
design and configuration tools development used by the regional ITR teams in
proposal development and order execution.
• Support the engineering effort on several programs and projects for new and
existing membrane based equipment products working closely with production,
product managers, commercial engineers, and members of the project engineering
teams as required.
• Be the point of contact for sustaining engineering efforts related to mechanical,
instrumentation, and some design drawing work such as P&ID's, and some solid
works design in 3D.
• Contribute to troubleshooting customer and manufacturing problems related to all
membrane equipment products.
• Travel may be required to our various manufacturing sites and customer sites
occasionally to support new product introductions, collect feedback on existing
products, and for collaboration with regional ITR teams.
• Support Global Products Platform engineering team objectives and process
development.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's or equivalent 4 degree in mechanical engineering or science related field
• Experience in ACAD and Solid Works design software.
• Experience with engineering standards for documentation, engineering review
processes, and common regional regulatory requirements such as CE, UL, CSA,
ASME, etc.
• Independent, motivated self-starter with the personal initiative to help shape a
Growth Program platform.
• Strong statistical and project management skills.
• Excellent oral and written English and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal, and communication skills.
Qualifications
Desired:
• Experience with the configurable membrane equipment product portfolio at VWTS
• Industrial product design experience in water treatment and/or food processing
involving membrane separation processes (RO, UF, electrodialysis).
• Experience with business management software, e.g. SAP and Eng. change
processes.
• Programming and computer model development experience (excel, google sheets,
etc.).
Location:
• Membrane equipment focus: Position to be based out of Minnetonka, MN USA or
Oakville, ON Canada.
