Toledo Clinic's Primary Care Department is seeking a full-time MA/Phone Triage person to answer phones, triage calls, and schedule appointments in a high volume Primary Care office. This position will also assist with check in/check out and running patients as needed. Qualified candidates will have previous medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology. This position is full-time with benefits and will be scheduled M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Must be comfortable on the phones handling patient calls. Qualified candidates will have an RMA, CMA, or CCMA credential.
Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants and Certified Patient Care Techs. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary:
Answer phone calls related to patient's medical problems, address questions with physicians and call patients back. Follow physician verbal orders related to patient care. Obtain prior authorizations for medications, radiology, and DME.

- Excellent telephone skills required. 90% of this position requires talking on the telephone.
- Medical background to be able to triage patient questions appropriately
- Attention to detail and being conscientious to follow up with patients
- Must be able to work quickly and accurately
- MA certification and RMA/CMA/CCMA credential.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
Education:
-Medical Assistant or LPN
Preferred:
-Previous experience helpful.

- Refill medications
- Prior authorizations
- At the request of the physician, call in prescriptions.
- Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, etc.).
- Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
- Other duties as assigned.
