Job DetailsLevelExperiencedJob LocationTruss Madison - Madison, ALJob ShiftNight ShiftDescriptionRole Summary:The Assistant Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor in the day-to-day production at the Truss Plant. Coaches, motivates and supports the production crew, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with the staff. Scope of the Position:The APS will lead a production team on one shift at a Truss Plant. Responsibilities:Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updatesComply with all OSHA safety requirementsCommunicate effectively with the management staff and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are metEnsure company policies and procedures are followedOrganize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production scheduleMonitor quality and accuracy of all ordersEnsure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipmentEnsure employee safety training is conducted as requiredProvide a positive, motivating example for employeesConduct training or authorize training of production employeesTake all necessary action to manage production cost and improve profitInform Production Supervisor of equipment and production concernsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentFollow Wilson Lumber's core valuesPerform the duties of the Production Supervisor in the Production Supervisor's absencePosition Qualifications:Bilingual English/Spanish desired but not requiredStrong commitment to creating a work environment where employees want to do their bestExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical skillsSelf-Starter requiring little to no directionStrong interpersonal skillsModerate computer skillsExceptional organizational skills Ability to think strategicallyProven track record of meeting business objectivesMust have a proven track record in effectively managing operational strategy, safety programs, and customer satisfactionEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experienceA minimum of 2+ years' experience in operations management, and/or production management in the construction industry or construction related industryPhysical Requirements:Must be able to stand for long periods of timeLift at least 50 poundsAble to wear all required Personal Protective EquipmentYou will be expected to follow any other job related instructions and to perform other job related duties as requested by management.
