JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Assistant Director

Department: Vinco Academy

Reports To: Director

SUMMARY

The Assistant Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of Vinco Academy. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for the safety and protection of individuals enrolled in the academy, as well as the development and direction of staff to ensure quality care. The Group Supervisor of Vinco Academy will coordinate with the Director in planning and implementing daily activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provide instructions to staff.
  • Plan and implement daily program activities.
  • Coordinate activities of assistant group supervisors and aides.
  • Assist the Director with developing and designating daily program activities
  • Develop, train, and orient all new hires and employees.
  • Complete new hire shadowing schedules.
  • Perform daily supervisions and performance improvement of staff.
  • Provide a safe, structure and educational environment.
  • Schedule monthly meetings with staff.
  • Correspond with Director and Human Resources concerning staff growth and performance.
  • Enforce compliance of all State and Local regulatory agencies as well as Vinco Academy policies and procedures.
  • Act as Incident Commander in the absence of the Director.
  • Approve of staff timesheets.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technologically Proficient
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective communicator both oral and written
  • Able to work independently and be a competent team player
  • Capable of lifting without restrictions
  • FBI fingerprint (as applicable), PA Criminal Background Check, Drug Screen, Physician Approval

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with a minimum of 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with children.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and progressive leadership experience in an educational environment

Full time

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with students, staff, guardians, and senior management.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • First Aid and CPR certified preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
